MEETING INFORMATION:
AUGUST 14 MEETING HAS EARLY START, CORN, AND CARDS

Bring your appetite to the Aug. 14 regular membership meeting, our annual corn roast meeting, which also will feature an early start and the Council's first ever euchre tournament.

The meeting will start promptly at 7 PM, 45 minutes earlier than normal, and will be very, very brief, Grand Knight Richard Smith promises.

Fresh sweet corn, hot dogs and burgers, salads, and beverages will follow so members should skip dinner at home.  Dan Murphy, Patrick McDonald, Jerome Williams and Tom McPhail will staff the kitchen.

After dinner, the Council's first annual euchre tournament will be held.  Tournament Director Bob Brown is hoping for at least five tables of players.  "Beginners are welcome," Brown said.

A nominal entry fee will be charged so cash prizes can be awarded.

PHONE TREE INFORMATION:
A 20 MEMBER PHONE TREE IS IN THE TESTING PHASE; MORE MEMBERS CAN BE ADDED SOON

As an attempt to improve communication, especially to those members without e-mail, a phone tree has been drafted and is currently in the testing phase.  Once all the kinks are worked out, more members will be added to the tree.

Most members on the tree only have to receive one call and make three calls OR receive three calls and make one call.  The Grand Knight initiates the phone tree (phone chain) with the message by calling three brother knights who in turn have their designated calls to make.  Once all of the calls have gone through the tree, the Grand Knight will receive a call to let him know the message has gone through everyone or alert him of one of the chains that broke or whatever the case may be.

Once the testing phase is complete, the entire membership will be able to join the phone tree.

NOTE:
If interested, you can get a look at the initial tree both visually and with just a list of calls that everyone on the tree is making.
