| Learn About Us - St.
Gerald Council #13673 |
| Thanks to the efforts of Father
Michael J. McGivney (now a Venerabe Servant of God), assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New
Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state
legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of
Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. |
|
| The Knights of Columbus has
grown from several members in one council to more than 14,000
councils and 1.75 million members throughout the United States,
Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic,
Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Guatemala,
Guam and Saipan. |

| The St. Gerald Council, the
order's 13,673rd council, was officially instituted on December 9,
2004. |
|
| The Council is located at St.
Gerald Catholic Church in Farmington, Michigan. |
|
| There were 40 members when we
started gathering in early 2005 and sometime during this fraternal
year, which ends June 30, 2009, we will be 100 members strong. |
